Carbon Footprints Science Experiment

Our carbon footprint is the amount of emissions our daily activities produce, impacting the environment. Start off by stamping a footprint on a large board(paint bottom of child’s foot), brainstorm ideas that contribute to our big carbon footprint (driving a car, flying a plane, wasting energy in house, wasting water, etc. then brainstorm ideas to make our footprint smaller, carpool, turn off lights, save water + food. Activity allows children to recognize the how everything we do impacts our environment and how-to problem solve to shrink our carbon footprint. Also reiterates the idea of responsibility for the choices we make.

Materials needed: Paint, Bristol board, markers
