The Earth and I: Book and Activity

Watch the video as Hannah reads the book "The Earth and I" and then follow along on a fun activity!
Recommended for ages 2-8 


To make your own earth you will need:
  •  1 unused coffee filter
  • 2 markers
    • 1 blue
    • 1 green
  • A spray bottle filled with water
  • A tray (optional)
Instructions:

  1. Take your coffee filter and color every inch of the filter in green and blue. Feel free to get creative here, the world is ever changing and so each world should be special.  
  2. When the coffee filter is completely colored, set the filter on a tray*. (You can also put it on the ground outside or any other area that you don’t want to get ruined by marker.). 
  3. Spray the “Earth” completely with water. Watch the colors bleed into each other and see how your Earth changes!  
  4. When the Earth is completely dry, you can pick it up and see how your Earth has changed. 
  5. Talk about the Earth and ask your young one about what they have learned about our planet!
