Draw your Family Tree!

Family gatherings can be a stressful time for children, especially when they don’t know anyone’s names. One way to help your child learn their many aunts, uncles, and cousins’ names is to make a family tree and explain their relation to each of their family members. You can include names, photos, drawings, and other information about each person on the tree.

What you need:
  • Paper
  • Pen, pencil, markers, etc.
Step 1:  Start with your current family.  Make a box for each child, in chronological order, at the bottom of the page
Step 2:  Add parent boxes above the children boxes
Step 3:  Keep adding parent boxes as you build your family tree
